About Beyond PMSA
Beyond PMSA is a group dedicated to providing support, information and a united voice for concerned Brisbane Boys College, Somerville House, Clayfield College, and Sunshine Coast Grammar School community members.
We demand transparency, open communication and accountability in the governance of our schools as well as shared Christian values. These cornerstones are vital for the wellbeing of all students and staff and the future success of our schools.
We do not believe these outcomes can be delivered while the schools remain under the control of the Presbyterian and Methodist Schools Association (PMSA).
Beyond PMSA came together for the first time as a group on October 24, 2017, after a series of
alarming events occurred at Somerville House. However, since then an avalanche of information has shown it is simply a case of history repeating itself. BBC and Clayfield College staff, students and teachers have also have also suffered through the PMSA practices - and the time has come for change.
We have called on the church Moderators to show strong leadership and dismantle the PMSA to make way for modern management practices that meet the expectations of their most important stakeholder – the parents of the students they are entrusted with.
The stark irony is most parents blindly believed this would already be the case. It is not. We now know the PMSA has a decades-long history of disfunction – and it threatens top-notch principals, teachers and the safety of our children.
Enough is enough – and the time for change is now.
We have recently opened a bank account to receive donations from anyone wishing to support our objectives. Funds provided will only be applied to third party costs and we will remain a volunteer organisation. Transparency is very important to us and we intend to publish full accounts of the expenditure we incur in due course.
